Let’s Talk About the Future of Your Neighborhood Open House

Thank you to the 100 people who came out and provided some great input on neighborhood issues, opportunities, and on how aspects of the Oct 28-30 workshop should be run. Your input is invaluable, and we encourage everyone who attended, and everyone who could not attend, to remember to bring others they know who should be involved to the Oct 28-30 workshop!

The neighborhoods around 22nd Street and the Monon have been selected as a Sustainable Neighborhood Renewal area. It’s an exciting time for all of us, and we hope you’ll want to be part of the planning process to improve and revitalize your neighborhood.

Indianapolis architects, the Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corp., King Park Area Development Corp., along with the City of Indianapolis and Ball State University invite you to a public meeting on Oct. 13, so we can share more details about this project, and talk about how you can get involved.

You’ll learn about a national team of design and policy experts (the American Institute of Architects' Sustainable Design Assessment Team), which has selected Indianapolis for a sustainable neighborhood renewal project, which we’re calling Smart Growth Renewal.

This organization last came to Indianapolis in the 1970s, to talk about the potential of an urban park, which later became White River State Park. And, that’s just one example of what can happen when we all get together and dream big.

Please join us on Oct. 13, and let’s talk about how we can work together to improve our neighborhoods.
